Our Savannah Queens
I really liked the idea of having a second breed, and spent some time at shows talking to people, and on the internet, looking at the characters and inherited problems of all the different breeds. I really did want a cat that was as outgoing and intelligent as the Bengal.
In the end, I just couldn’t resist the Savannah. They just love people, are lively, intelligent, and so like the Bengal in their nature.
The accepted colours of the Savannah are brown, silver and black smoke.
In the wild, their Serval ancestors are found both as tawny brown cats and black (melanistic) cats. The melanistic Servals are most commonly found in the Aberdare Mountains in Kenya.
Purebliss Naivasha (known as Vasha)
A1Savannahs Wild Dream x A1Savannahs Phoenix
Pedigree
Here is our first Savannah - Purebliss Naivasha.
I spent several months in Kenya and Tanzania in my younger days, and just fell in love with the area (and especially the cats). So I wanted to name her after one of the places I had visited. Lake Naivasha was my favourite picnic spot, and so I was really pleased when Jacky let me use Naivasha as her name.
‘Vasha’ is our first Savannah - a lovely silver girl, with a heart of gold, who just loves nuzzling our ears, and watching TV, and trying to steal food off our plates.
I am thrilled that Jacky has trusted me to look after her.
Purebliss Hint of Gold (known as Goldie)
Purebliss Xcess x A1Savannahs Treasure Me
Pedigree
I just couldn’t resist this little girl when I saw her - I just adore her colour and her wonderful face.
Goldie joined us just from Purebliss, and is our second Savannah queen.
She has such a lovely temperament - typical Savannah, nuzzling your neck, and always wanting to be cuddled.
We look forward to her first kittens in 2010.
Purebliss Nakuru (known as Ku)
Purebliss Paradox x A1Savannahs Iiusion
Pedigree
I love Iiusions head, and really wanted one of her kittens, so I was thrilled when Jacky said I could have one of her little girls.
Ku has the most adorable nature - she rushes over for cuddles as soon as you go in the room, and purrs like crazy as you hold her. Her favourite ‘trick’ is to ride round the house on your shoulder, so that she can look down on everything around her.
She has a lovely face, and I am sure she will mature into a beautiful girl.
